LURKA - Holding Ep - Black Acre

Bristol acetate carver and drum major, Lurka launches his Black Acre debut with three unpredictable Drum machine battle drills. Kicking off with ‘Holding’ a technoid inflected dancehall pounder with a relentless low-end theory. The anxious heartbeat littered with schizophrenic percussion and alarm bells bursting into an undead army marching anthem. With ‘Nah So’ we are back on slightly more familiar turf, crushing kick drums perform the body blows under intricate hi-hats programming. KMT the most meditative of the three with nods to Alan Howarth’s bleak synthesiser work while high-fiveing Schooly D’s drum machine.

After storming the gates with his warmly received Tambacounda EP, Clap! Clap! returns to Black Acre to deliver his debut longplayer.
Tayi Bebba is a highly conceptual work that manages to balance a highly cerebral concept with making some good old fashioned bangers. Tayi Bebba is an album tour of an imagined island each song representing a location, event or ritual. Sonically it’s a fast moving charge across the soundscape fusing field recordings and found sound with incredibly surgical drum programming.
Flavours of house, Footwork and Hip Hop punctuate your migration with a very specific sound palate giving this amazing work a cohesive feel.

Fantastic Mr Fox returns home to deliver his most ambitious work to date. Here combining with much hyped new folk voice Denai Moore to produce a heart break anthem with genuine emotional impact. Fantastic Mr Fox underpins Denai's electronically warped siren song with soaring choral stabs and desolate bass-work.
Already leaked by none other than Jamie XX late last year, overwhelming demand has drawn this song into the light. On the flip Fantastic Mr Fox returns to familiar territory with cheeky club smasher "Broke" drawing heavily on his break jacking roots in Hip Hop.

LOOPS HAUNT - Exits - Black Acre

Since his debut in 2009, Loops Haunt has continued to confound and excite with an output as mercurial as it is rare. Toying with Jungle and Hip Hop on "Zenith" and outright sound design on "Ark", the wilderness-bound beat alchemist uses his isolation to explore and even create his otherworldly sound palate. Lurking behind immaculate drums are the windswept sounds of the desolate North and mechanized textures plucked from his Father’s own workshop. Here we embark on Loops’ most complete work to date. "Exits" is designed to be listened to as one continuous track, opening with ambient mood and emotion, layering outboard synths and found-sounds on the title track and "Trap Door". An unexpected calm beginning is shattered in the second act with the pounding rhythms and industrial heart beats of "Howl" and "IIVA". "Exits" is an insight into a uniquely unpredictable talent and rare chance to be immersed in his sound.

CLAP! CLAP! - Tambacounda Ep - Black Acre

Clap! Clap! is longtime Jazz player Cristiano Crisci, also known in electronic circles as Digi G'Alessio. With cross genre accolades and support spanning the globe he is already established as one of Italy’s brightest talents, supporters include, Annie Mac, Diplo, Toddla T, Skream.
Here in full chopped up afro-future mode he fuses the hiss-crackle and fuzz of heavy tribal sampling with broad stroke drum programming. The fluidity of time signatures and deft jazz minded drumming gives the Tambacounda EP a woozy and hallucinogenic feel, tracks travelling from deep jungle drama to carnival ecstasy.

SNOW GHOSTS - Secret Garden - Houndstooth

Snow Ghosts is the collaboration between Throwing Snow, aka Ross Tones, and vocalist Augustus Ghost, aka Hannah Cartwright. In 2013, they released their critically acclaimed debut full-length LP ‘A Small Murmuration’ on Fabric's label Houndstooth, and were named The Guardian’s ‘New Band of the Day’, Zane Lowe’s ‘Next Hype’, and have played a live acoustic session on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show.
‘Secret Garden’, the third single from the album, is an atmospheric, melancholic production that perfectly melds Ross’ love of chaos theory and Hannah’s earthy propensity for nature. Iconoclastic producer Matthew Herbert provides his delicately off-kilter 'Wash It All Away Remix', while avant-garde producer Richard Skelton offers up an unforgettable ambient drone re-work.
Black Acre's Blue Daisy features on the album version of 'Covenant', and he returns here with Hey!Zeus under the Dahlia Black collective to round out the EP with a raw, horror-core influenced hip-hop remix.
The 12” is cut to heavyweight 180g vinyl by mastering engineer Matt Colton and strictly limited to 300 copies.

DR ZYGOTE - Grupo Zygote - Black Acre

La nostra beneamata Black Acre, fondata nel 2007 a Bristol e ricca di contenuti elettronici e dubstep, dopo i recenti successi che hanno visto gli alfieri Romare e Fantastic Mr Fox spopolare per mezzo mondo con il loro suono fresco e nuovo, rilascia la prima puntata della serie "Black Acre Library" curata e creata del beatmaker e produttore britannico Dr. Zygote.
Una raccolta di suoni interamente creati e suonati dallo stesso Zygote, un album biblioteca e all'avanguardia che pone l'etichetta di Bristol in cima alla scena e che segna la linea guida e gli standard moderni del genere.
Suoni granulosi e dissonanti nascondono tecniche di miscelazione originarie del dub del grande King Tubby, l'impronta Hip Hop rompe i confini ammaliando con ritmiche tipicamente Jazz e atmosfere da colonna sonora di film anni 70.
Energico produttore sin dalla fine degli anni 90 sulla celebre etichetta Boot Record, Dr Zee, si ispira abbracciando limitazioni auto-imposte nella ricerca e stimolando la propria creatività elaborando suoni unici, interamente suonati e producendo questo Lp senza l'utilizzo di campioni.
